A civic holiday in the State of Maine and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to commemorate Lexington and Concord, the first battle of the American Revolution. Traditionally it was observed on April 19th, but since 1969 has been celebrated on the third Monday in April, in order to allow a three day weekend.
